Water Jet Cutting

Water jet cutting is one of the fastest growing engineering techniques due to the benefits it offers. The water jet allows for precision cutting, fabrication, or manufacture of parts for machinery and other devices.

Using this technique will allow the cutting of any shape but critically without any heat stress or warping in the material.

Abrasive Water Jet Cutting

This technique works by adding abrasive (garnet) mixture to the pressurized water and forcing it through a small hole for precision cutting through metals.

Benefits of using Water jet Cutting Techniques:

  • Some materials may be sensitive to high temperatures when being cut – a water jet cutter will help prevent this from becoming an issue
  • Water jet cutting provides a smooth precision cut and burr free
  • The machine doesn’t discharge any harmful fumes or liquids
  • This profiling method provides good versatility and can cut through a range of materials (aluminium, nickel, etc.)
